Complete permit applications are reviewed and processed in the order they are received. It may take up to three (3) full business days to receive an approved permit.
A complete permit application includes ALL of the following items:
Work may not begin until all approved permits are received from The Department of Public Works.
You MUST obtain a Sidewalk Builders License to receive a Driveway Apron or Sidewalk Permit.
If you're not sure, check the Roadway Classifications map to determine.
Upload temporary traffic control plan or upload a layout from WisDOT Work Zone Field Manual.

How many total days for the work to be completed within the timeframe you are requesting?
If the time frame exceeds two weeks, a Construction Schedule is required.
Example: Work on N Jefferson Street between Cherry Street and Walnut Street.

If you plan to obstruct a parking lane(s) with metered spots (view map), then you will need to rent a meter hood where a daily fee will be charged per meter obstructed.
To expedite permit review include plan with all cut locations and sizes.

END OF APPLICATION. Click "Submit" so that the Department of Public Works can review your permit request. If your permits are approved, you will receive an email notification within 3 business days with a link to download your approved permit documents.
