Animal Stories

This program is designed to introduce your 3 to 5 year old to Wisconsin's fascinating wildlife in an informal setting that will hopefully foster an on-going interest in the outdoors.  Please look at calendar for dates. Free.

Full Moon Tai Chi

In this class we will use the balancing principles of tai chi to soften the extremes of yang energy and harness the nurturing openness the full moon offers. Come and experience how the energetic flow of tai chi can connect you tot he balanced cycles of your life. Nor prior experience necessary. Kids 15 and under are welcome with adult supervision. Class dates coincide with the full moon. Fee required Register here. 

Public Bat Program 

Bat talk and live bat demonstration, followed by a trail walk with bat detectors to find bats flying outside at the WLS. Learn about the bats in Wisconsin and in your neighborhood!  Meet at the Nature Center. Mosquito repellent recommended. Participants can bring a small flashlight or headlamp. Fee is required.

Public Pond Study

Explore a pond with a Naturalist.  We will be dipping with nets and wading out with boots to investigate what creatures might live in the pond.  Meet at the Nature Center. Fee is required.

Trail Fitness Walks 

Walk for fitness led by a Naturalist on Sanctuary trail system. We will walk for approximately 45 minutes at a brisk pace. Some uneven terrain, not paved. Bring your own water bottle and mosquito repellent (when needed). Meet in the Nature Center entrance. Find dates here. Free. 

Wildlife Sanctuary Camps

Camps offered Monday through Thursday with morning and afternoon sessions. Free lunch is served from 11:30 AM-12:10 PM.  Fee required. Camps include:

Tween Tuesdays

This is a perfect opportunity for 11 to 14 who is looking to do some physical work and help the environment at the same time. Fee require. Register here.
