Make a Claim
If you wish to file a claim against the city, you must comply with section 893.80, Wisconsin Statutes. Each claim is individually reviewed by the Claims Committee to determine whether the city is liable for the damages claimed.
The city has 120 days from the date you submit your claim to allow or disallow it; please be aware that the Claims Committee researches each claim and obtains information from city departments, so it may take some time to gather all the information necessary to respond.
Claim for Damages
All persons claiming damages against the city must comply with section 893.80, Wisconsin Statutes. The City offers a Liability Claim Form for the public to use in submitting a claim which identifies the information the City requires in order to review the claim. Each claim is individually reviewed by the Claims Committee to determine whether the city is liable for the damages claimed. You may submit your form in any of the following ways:
- As an attachment to an e-mail sent to law@greenbaywi.gov.
- By drop off in the City Hall Drop Box
- By mail to:

You will receive written confirmation once it is received. If you do not receive written confirmation within 10 days, you should follow-up to verify the claim was actually received.
