Employee Recruitment and Engagement

The City continues to recruit and hire qualified candidates throughout all of our City Departments. Our teams focus on employee autonomy, engagement, and the overall well-being of our employees. The City encourages employees to work remotely and work alternative schedules to promote a healthy work/life balance while still meeting the service demands from the community.
Five Employees Standing Together
Employees are encouraged to enroll in the City’s health and wellness program Health 1265. The goal of Health 1265 is to engage all employees in their own health and wellbeing. Employees who are active and take preventative measures to improve one’s health can earn 1265 points that will reduce their insurance premiums, earn dollars that can be used towards medical expenses, and win prizes throughout the year.

We also strive to foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. The Human Resources Department and the Equal Rights Commission took a first step towards improving its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts by creating a DE&I Strategic Plan called I-Act (Intentional Awareness and City Transformations). The City will be filling the role of Workplace Culture Specialist later in 2023 to help further this initiative.
